THIS IS A SUMMER CO-OP OR DEVELOPMENTAL STUDENT PLACEMENT (May - August 2012)

Location: Tiverton, Ontario

We are offering one student placement in our Lower & Intermediate Leval Waste Maintenance Department. This position is based at the Nuclear Waste Management Division located in Tiverton, Ontario. Tiverton is located between the Bruce and Kincardine Townships and the sandy beaches of Lake Huron at Inverhuron Provincial Park. It is approximately 250 kilometres northwest of Toronto, Ontario. Please note, there is no public transportation available to this work site.

As the successful candidate you may be responsible for the following duties:
  • flow sheets / drawings,
  • work protection process,
  • system surveillance, ventilation systems, electric systems, mechanical systems,
  • secure materials thought purchase orders,
  • scheduling work order task process and field verifications,
  • create reports on production,
  • create communication packages for roll outs to approx 60 staff, and;
  • process improvements.

We are searching for an enthusiastic Electrical or Mechanical Engineering student who has completed a minimum of second year, and will be returning to university (full-time) upon completion of this work term, or require one final work term to graduate.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following knowledge and skills:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills; both in quantity and quality
  • Ability to interact positively with others by developing trust, mutual respect and co-operative working relationships
